Koch Business Solutions, LP Enterprise Technology Solutions is currently seeking an Oracle Database Administrator to join its Enterprise Technology Solutions division. Enterprise Technology Solutions provides specialized knowledge and expertise in application development and support, project management, infrastructure, and customer service to the companies of Koch Industries, Inc, one of the largest privately held companies in the United States.

Roles & Responsibilities:
Performs day-to-day maintenance of about 75 Oracle / SQL database instances within multiple businesses, including creating backups, restoring databases, updating table statistics, etc.
Installs/coordinates the installation of database-specific security patches and major/minor version releases on development, test, quality assurance and production systems.
Monitors, detects, diagnoses, resolves, and reports database system problems (performance, security violations, availability, etc.)
Proactively works with application owners to manage and tune databases for optimal performance.
Manage database security and grant access as appropriate.
Model and design databases.
Analyze data and make recommendations relating to performance.
Documents and improves existing processes for maintaining/optimizing databases.
Provides resolution details to Knowledge Base for corrected or known error incidents/problems.
Follows organization’s change, configuration, and release management processes.
Position requires carrying a pager and responding to calls 24X7 as needed. |
Requirements:
Minimum of 2 years experience with Oracle administration and/or SQL Server administration.
Fundamental understanding of server operating systems and basic networking principles.
Strong conceptual, analytical and problem-solving ability.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
Well organized and able to prioritize, organize and coordinate simultaneous tasks/projects.
Ability to work well in a team environment.
High School Diploma
Work Experience / Skills Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, Math, or related field
Experience with Oracle Server administration
Data architect experience
Experience with Unix Experience with Microsoft Analytical Services (SSAS, SSIS, SSRS)
MCITP: Database Administrator or Certified Oracle Database Administrator
2+ years of Sybase DBA experience |
