Industrial Instrumentation Mechanic

Position Summary

The Industrial Instrument Mechanic will be proficient in the installation, examination, removal, repair and replacement the following:
      • pneumatic tubing and electrical wiring on existing installations
      • temperature sensors and indicators
      • pressure and vacuum sensors and indicators
      • oxygen and gas analysis equipment in laboratories
      • moisture and humidity sensing and indicating systems
      • sensors and indicators measuring speed, position and timing
      • pneumatic or electronic transmitters and data scanning systems
      • monitoring and alarm systems
• Read blueprints to determine the size and nature of installations
• Determine and mark access routes for equipment
• Diagnose malfunctions and conduct repairs
• Examine and adjust equipment
• Help select and plan maintenance and inspection programs and train maintenance crews

 
Requirements
• Three to five years industrial experience • Problem-solving skills to determining the best repair solutions • Ability work proficiently in a variety of tasks • Must be up to date with new developments in instrumentation technology • Good planning and organizational abilities

• Minimum grade 12 or equivalent

• Must be able to stand for long periods of time, work at heights or in confined spaces
• Must posses inter-provincial journeyman’s ticket
