Fixed Reliability Engineer

Position Summary
Provides technical support on fixed equipment issues to refinery & petrochemical operating business units.
Responsible for framing up sound and economically viable repair vs. replacement recommendations, and updating equipment reliability strategies.
Owns assigned fixed equipment standards, and willing to participate in their continual improvement.
Trains and assists project engineers in the use of equipment standards and ASME codes.
Leads major Root Cause Failure Analysis investigations for fixed equipment.
Enjoys working in a team environment, and will be able to communicate at all levels of management.
 
Requirements
Work Experience & Skills Required:
Engineering degree with 10 yrs of experience within a refining, chemical, or heavy industrial environment. Knowledge and experience related to pressure vessels, piping, exchangers, and the factors that affect the reliability of fixed equipment. Experience applying ASME/API/NBIC codes and code calculations relating to alterations/repairs.

Education Required:
B.S. in Mechanical, Civil, Reliability or Chemical/Petroleum Engineering

Work Experience & Skills Preferred:
Performing Root Cause Failure Analysis Exposure to Reliability Centered Maintenance Knowledge of fitness-for-service principles as outlined in API 579. Developing and managing equipment standards 

Physical Demands or Unusual Working Conditions:
Confined Space Entry into 18" dia. manways, climbing ladders

Other Considerations:
API 510/571 certifications, AWS certification, PIP function team member, API committee member 
Able to travel up to 10% of the time. 
Some overtime may be required, including nights, weekends, and holidays during turnarounds and outages
