DEPARTMENT SUMMARY

Port Arthur chemical plant, where we produce cyclohexane, ethylene and propylene, which are sold on the merchant market. ROLES, RESPONSIBILITIES and EXPECTATIONS:
Lead Safety and Environmental Culture and Performance for FHR General Maintenance team • Demonstrate and ensure safe work practices and environmental compliance • Drive the understanding of and adherence to FHR policies and procedures
Supervise FHR instrument crafts including analyzer, field instrumentation, PLC, DCS, and A/C • Ensure all direct reports have RRE’s defined and provided • Provide routine feedback following FHR’s performance management system • Ensure all direct reports maintain training requirements as assigned • Ensure all direct reports demonstrate safe work practices and environmental compliance • Ensure continual improvement in the performance of the instrument crafts
Serve as the instrumentation and/or electrical administrator for maintenance work • Develop daily schedule assignments for craftsmen assigned • Manage break-in “emergency” work as requested • Oversee contractors supporting the instrumentation crafts • Ensure all work is scheduled and managed to meet the needs of the custom

WORK EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIRED: 5+ years experience working in instrument related role at a chemical/refining process plant Previous supervisory/leadership experience in an instrumentation role Degree in applied instrumentation from accredited program
EDUCATION REQUIRED: High School Diploma or equivalent
EDUCATION PREFERRED: Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering or Higher Level Electrical Engineering Degree
PHYSICAL DEMANDS or UNUSUAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Stooping, bending, crawling, pushing, pulling and squatting Climbing heights of up to 180 feet (stairs and ladders) and climbing portable ladders up to 25 feet Walking up and down stairs frequently Constantly (2/3 or more of the time) hearing, seeing (acuity – near, far and depth) Exposure to environmental conditions (frequently walking in and outdoors) with exposure to extreme warm and cold temperatures Lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally and 30 pounds frequently
