The Environmental Manager will:
•Manage environmental compliance.
•Support environmental compliance and environmental compliance self assessment; specific duties include:
  -Prepare or oversee technical content of audit protocols and baseline for formal audits; 
  -Facility environmental risk assessment and audit frequency assessments; 
  -Process and requirements for environmental corporate internal and facility self assessments; 
  -Findings, resolution and issues management;
  -Manage environmental measures and environmental release reporting and tracking process
•Track environmental emerging issues in government and industry (regulatory, statutory, and best practice) and develop and execute corporate strategies to address these issues.
•Manage issues and coordinate regulatory interpretations and implementation with appropriate legal and technical resources.
•Coordinate and lead development of consistent environmental training programs.
•Develop relationships with regulatory agencies when appropriate and develop credentials that benefit the company.
•Develop environmental management systems (and guidelines as appropriate) and performance goals appropriately considering EMS certification such as ISO 14001 and Texas EMS requirements.
•Have vision to attain world class environmental performance.
•Supervise and develop environmental professionals to be key contributors to FHR’s long term success.
•Provide general oversight of environmental contractors to ensure performance metrics are obtained.
•Set results based, clear expectations and perform periodic performance reviews.
•Ensure personnel are trained, qualified, and given responsibilities where they can make the most valuable contribution to FHR.
•Assist employees in the management of their personal development plans to help them improve performance.

 
Requirements

Work Experience/Skills Required:
•8 years experience dealing with multimedia environmental compliance matters in Petrochemical industry.
•8 years of supervisory and/or employee development experience.
•Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
•Strong experience dealing with environmental compliance matters.
•Strong presentation and training ability.

Education Required:
•Bachelor's Degree

Education Preferred:
•Bachelor of Science in Chemical engineering or other relevant engineering discipline.

Physical Demands or Unusual Working Conditions:
•Stooping, bending, crawling, pushing, pulling and squatting
•Climbing heights of up to 300 feet (stairs and ladders) and climbing portable ladders up to 25 feet
•Walking up and down stairs frequently
•Constantly (2/3 or more of the time) hearing, seeing (acuity – near, far and depth)
•Exposure to environmental conditions (frequently walking in and outdoors) with exposure to extreme warm and cold temperatures
•Lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally and 30 pounds frequently
