| Position Summary |
The Environmental Engineer is responsible for ensuring compliance for release Reporting and for Chemical Management. The Environmental Engineer also manages the C-Plan/ SPCC Environmental Compliance Systems. Additional responsibilities include; Groundwater Remediation, active participation as an Environmental Health & Safety team member, and Leadership within the EH&S Department.

Flint Hills Resources Alaska's North Pole refinery near Fairbanks, Alaska , has a crude oil processing capacity of about 220,000 barrels per day. It is the largest oil refinery in the state. It processes North Slope crude oil and supplies gasoline, jet fuel, heating oil, diesel, gasoline and asphalt to local and international markets. About 60 percent of the refinery’s production is destined for the aviation market

| Requirements |
Work Experience & Skills Required: *0-5 years experience in dealing with general environmental regulations or compliance related projects. Must be detail oriented, self-motivated and work well in a team environment. Must have good interpersonal skills with both internal and external customers. *Experience in General Environmental Areas, and Release Reporting Systems.
Work Experience and Skills Preferred: *Petroleum Refining experience desired. *SARA, TSCA, C-Plan, SPCC *Familiar with Regulatory Structure / Process. *Emergency Response Team experience.
Education Required: *Bachelor's Degree in Sciences
Education Preferred: Environmental, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering Degree.
Physical Demands: Must be able to communicate freely and effectively via normal work place channels using phone, computer network, and direct means. Must be able to work effectively on computer for extended periods of time. Must have the ability to perform the essential physical duties of the position including, but not limited to: walking, seeing, hearing, lifting, bending, stretching, climbing, etc.
Additional Information: Offers of employment are contingent upon successful completion of the pre-employment drug screen, background check, and baseline physical. Salary is DOE.
