The Details

The Legal Department is responsible for achieving superior legal results for Flint Hills Resources, LP's businesses. We work on all of the company's legal matters, including lawsuits and arbitrations, environmental issues, safety regulations, contracts, government investigations, interpretation of state, federal and local laws, and intellectual property. We are located in Wichita, KS, and we support operations in Alaska, Illinois, Iowa, Louisiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, Texas, Wisconsin and Canada.

Requirements

Qualified candidates will have:

At least two years experience in a law firm, company or government agency, with demonstrated potential for advancement;

Excellent written and oral communication skills; 

Excellent judgment;

A strong work ethic;

Juris Doctor with strong academic credentials. 


We prefer candidates who have:

Law review or law journal experience;

Compliance counseling experience, particular to refining and chemicals or equivalent; 

Compliance enforcement experience with a government agency; 

Counseling experience re: contract and property matters;

A JD from a top tier law school--according to U.S. News and World Report;
