Position Summary
Flint Hills Resources is seeking a Human Resource Leader for the North Pole Refinery. The successful incumbent will be responsible for the selection and talent for the Alaska business to include recruitment, managing and developing the AAP, serving as member of cross-site corporate selection team, and serving as Site Compliance Officer for selection and employment reporting. The HR Leader will also provide support on a full range of employee relations issues for the AK business to include leadership of the Employee Relations Team. Some travel is required.

A leading producer of fuels, base oils for lubricants, and other petrochemical and commodity products, Flint Hills Resources and its affiliates have refining complexes in Alaska, Minnesota and Texas, and are investors in a base oils facility near Lake Charles, LA. The company also produces commodity chemicals within its Corpus Christi, Texas facility and chemical intermediates in its Joliet, IL plant. Flint Hills Resources Alaska's North Pole refinery near Fairbanks, Alaska, has a crude oil processing capacity of about 220,000 barrels per day. It is the largest oil refinery in the state. It processes North Slope crude oil and supplies gasoline, jet fuel, heating oil, diesel, gasoline and asphalt to local and international markets. About 60 percent of the refinery’s production is destined for the aviation market

Requirements

Required Work Experience: 



  • Demonstrated ability to apply a broad knowledge of principles, practices and procedures in the field of Human Resources.   

  • Demonstrated education and/or experience in general employment law practices.

  • Demonstrated supervisory experience to include performance management and employee development.


Preferred Work Experience: 


  • Understanding of refining or manufacturing environment.

  •  1-2 years of previous recruitment experience to include experience with an Internet/Web based recruitment tracking & management system.


Required Education: 



  • Four year college degree or equivalent experience.


Preferred Education:



  • Professional certification (PHR or SPHR).


Physical Demands: Office ergonomics

Periodic travel required. 
Schedule: 8am – 5pm, Monday through Friday or a flexible 9/80 Work Schedule available. Offer of employment contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen, background check, and baseline physical.
