| Position Summary |
This position will develop, implement and manage the overall risk management programs including supporting all employees in their understanding, assessment, and active management of their accident hazards and risks. •Provide direction to site leadership team on safety and health as it relates to regulatory agencies and third parties •Drive implementation and maintenance of health and safety programs and associated training •Own the site's Process Safety Management program, providing guidance and ensuring compliance with all elements •Drive continuous improvement with respect to OSHA's VPP program to maintain the site's VPP Star Status •Perform internal and external safety audits ensuring applicable safety and health codes are met and maintained •Mentor plant personnel in the value of risk management, process safety, regulatory requirements, etc. •Lead the Union- Management Safety Committee in coordination with the site's union safety leaders

| Requirements |
•Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Engineering or equivalent experience •5+ years experience in the safety field, preferably in the petrochemical industry •Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations •Working knowledge of OSHA’s Process Safety Management standard •Understanding of process safety management, hazard and risk analysis, and development of appropriate hazard management systems •Ability to analyze technical and regulatory information •Ability to communicate at all levels of the organization and coordinate with governmental agencies, third parties and the community •Demonstrated experience in development and implementation of general safety programs, including but not limited to energy control (LOTO), confined space entry, machine guarding, fall protection, risk-based inspection, work permitting, excavation, structure design •Broad experience in applying safety engineering techniques and the outputs of risk assessments •Ability to lead and/or facilitate incident investigations and audit teams and develop/deliver training programs •Working knowledge of MS Office Suite
Preferred: •5+ years experience in a chemical plant •ASP or CSP certification •DOT, emergency response, IH, behavior-based safety, OSHA VPP, and supervisory experience
